The 10th Biennial Arts and Technology Symposium at Connecticut College, "Connectivity", is a major international conference devoted to presenting the edge and exploring the increasing links in the interdisciplinary world of arts, sciences, media, and technology. Three days of speakers, panels, concerts, video showings, dance, etc. Paid registration for full participation required. Concerts, art opening and keynote free, public invited.
PAID EVENTS:
Papers and presentations: Papers addressing the interdisciplinary world of arts, sciences, media, and technology. No papers will run concurrently. March 30, March 31, and April 1, 9 am to 4 pm, Oliva Hall, Cummings Arts Center. (Paid Registration required)

FREE EVENTS:
Keynote Address: Tod Machover, MIT, Professor of Music and Media, head of the MIT Media Lab's "Hyperinstruments/Opera of the Future" group. Friday, March 31, 4 pm, Evans Hall, Cummings Arts Center. (free, public invited)
Art Exhibit and Installations : "Connectivity", a multi-media, electronic arts exhibit in Cummings Art Galleries. Commissioned works include interactive installations by Gloria Brown-Simmons and Falko Kuester, from " The Center of Gravity" at Univ. of California at Urvine, and Roger Dannenberg, Carnegie Mellon University and Barbara Bernstein, Yale University. March 29 - April 1. Reception, March 30, 5 pm (free, public invited)
Multimedia Concerts: March 30, March 31, April 1, 8:00 pm in Evans Hall in Cummings Arts Center. Electro-acoustic music, videos, animations, dance, interactive performances. Commissioned works include interactive dance performance by Freider Weiss, Palindrome Intermedia Performance Group, Nurenberg, Germany. (free, public invited)
Teaching Technology Grant: "Teaching Technology and the Arts" program, providing professional development workshops in technological applications for art, music and media trachers. Sponsored by the Ammerman Center, Citizens Bank and AT&T. Teachers may attend technology workshops and the full symposium at no charge, and may earn CEU's and free software.
